Ella's Story

September 24th 2011 Nathan and I got up early to make our way to Mckay Dee Hospital to get ready for the beginning of the rest of our lives..

1 week previous to going to the hospital to have Ella I had my last check-up at my doctors office. I was only dilated to a 1 1/2 but I had started thinning so my doctor gave us the ok to plan on going to the doctor the next Saturday. My original due date was September 28 but due to the fact that my parents were leaving the country the first week of October, I talked my doctor into getting me started so I could have the help of my mom for the first week or so. Best decision I ever made. I was so blessed to have her helping me.

When we arrived at the hospital around 8:00 am on Saturday I was feeling great, I had got a full nights rest the night before and I was ready for whatever was going to come. Nathan and I walked into the hospital and because I wasn't sure if I had dilated any more I asked him if we could take the stairs to the 4th floor just to help out the cause. So we did. As we walked up the stairs to the 4th floor I made it just fine only to find out that you cannot enter the 4th floor without a key card to get you in. I'm still not sure if we picked a random set of stairs that maybe were used for employees only or if you really cant get through. We then turned around, walked down the 4 flights of stairs and proceeded to the elevator.

It was a quiet morning and we were welcomed by a few different people and got checked in to our room. I was flattered by 2 of the nurses who both told me I didn't look big enough to be having a baby yet. That is definitely not the way I felt but I was so grateful for their nice gestures. :)

Once I got changed and set up the labor and delivery nurse came in and checked me and I hadn't progressed at all. After signing all the millions of documents and answering every possible personal question you could think of I was started with Oxytocin and we were ready to get on our way.

Can I just say, I LOVED the labor and delivery nurses at Mckay Dee. They were all so amazing! It was a little different story for the nurses that take care of you after.. but I truly was so blessed to have awesome people working and keeping me entertained throughout the long day.

A little while after getting put on the Oxytocin the fun contractions got started. At first they weren't too bad but by about 1:00pm I decided that my white knuckles and teeth marks on the bed were a good indication that it was time for the epidural. (Ok, I didn't bite the bed but oh how I wanted to.) That is an indescribable feeling and I respect and don't know how you women that don't get drugged handle that incredible pain. Props to you.

At that point I was only at a 3 and started to get very frustrated. I knew that it had only been 5 hours but in my head I kept telling myself that I was going to have an abnormal first pregnancy and everything was going to go really fast. Wrong. Very Wrong.

The doctor came in and broke my water about 4:00 (In her mini skirt and tank top, might I add. She was on call and looked like she had been having a fun day. I love her!!) We still weren't progressing and about every 30 minutes the nurses would come in and adjust my position to see if we could get anything to work.

As time went on the nurses started keeping an eye on Ella's heart rate as it kept dropping really low when I would adjust my position and it started to stress me out so bad. I know the nurses could tell that I was starting to get nervous but the kept assuring me everything would be ok. At this point they were checking her heart rate about every 10 minutes and a couple times they had multiple people in our room watching the monitors.

7:00pm rolled around and the nurse came back in to check on me and see where we were at. I was at a 6 and I think at that point they were trying to decide what to try next to get our little angel here. 20 minutes later the nurse came back into give me some more medication to get things rolling and I had already dilated to a 7 then 8.

By 8:30 things were moving quickly and my OB was called to come back in. I remember having so many mixed emotions at this point. Frustrated that it was 9:00pm and we were still without a baby, Nervous that within a matter of minutes I was going to be experiencing something that I had been dreading but at the same time looking forward to for my whole life, Excited, Frightened for Ella's health and praying for her health, not knowing whether to cry or smile..all of you moms know what I am talking about. But overall, I was so excited to bring this little angel into Nathan and my life.

9:30: After a few concentrated pushes and after laughing my head off at the nurses and doctors and Nathan having a discussion about Mr. Potato head while I am giving birth our little Ella took her first breath of air and started to cry.

There are no words to describe that first moment of meeting Ella. I remember looking at Nathan and then looking at Ella and tears filling my eyes. What a miracle babies are. What a blessing it is to have them be part of our lives.

Ella was born 6 pounds and 19 inches long with a full head of dark brown hair. I have never seen such a perfect baby!

31 Weeks and needing some ADVICE!

Ok, before I start my post I need to make 2 things very clear; 1) No, I do not have any pictures to post, yet. But I would still love for anyone who reads this blog to read it and fill me in with any advice you possibly have. I will get pictures posted as soon as I can (which is part of the reason for this post.) 2) There is not any part of this post that is me complaining. I may fill you in on some things we have going on at the moment but in the middle of the chaos I realize that I am so blessed in my life right now and I would not change it for the world. Heavenly Father knows what I can handle and it just so happens that I am in a part of my life right now where I am being tested to find out how selfless and supportive I can be to those who have given so much to me. Does that make any sense to anyone?

First, I would like to let you all know that it has been 11 weeks since my last pregnancy update and things are continuing to go very well. I have been extremely blessed in the fact that I have had plenty of energy and very very few bumps along the way that have caused me grief. Ella is extremely active and it is so fun to be able to feel her kick and punch and head butt my ribs all day long. :) Really tho. I love it. I think that is going to be something that I miss about being pregnant. I have started to have small contractions (Braxton Hicks is I think what they call it) but nothing too serious so I don't worry too much about it and try to go on with my days. At this point the worst case I had was 3 in a row and now I only get one every couple days. Aint no thang. We had a doctors appointment today and she is weighing in at 3 lbs 9 ounces. Holy cow! That seems so little but at the same time we have 9 weeks to go so it is hard for me to think that she is now just starting to add on the real weight. I'm not going to lie. I am a little nervous. I am very familiar with how much that really is (I usually compare or think about the size and weight of the roasts and hamburger that we have packaged at the shop. Weird, I know. Poor girl gets compared to ground up carcas beef.) But I have a hard time thinking that I will have something that size come out of me. Now come the questions. How did you deal with that, all you moms out there? Were you as freaked out as I am? Don't get me wrong. I can't wait to meet the little girl, but I am already starting to panic a little about Labor and Delivery. Not really sure how to deal with it or is there something I should be doing now to get ready for it?

Ok all you experienced moms, here come a whole list of questions for you. Currently I am working 2 jobs and about 55 hours a week between both but cutting hours is not a choice to help solve this little pickle. 40 hours of that is mandatory to make sure food is on the table and we keep a roof over our heads in preparation to baby Ella and the other 15 hours is working up at the meat shop to hopefully give my hard working husband a break and relief from his 60-70 hour work week. We both work all day and get home around 7. We do a little more working, either paying business bills, updating numbers, payroll, Go to Young Womens and Young Mens ( I am the YW Pres and Nathan is the YM 1st counselor) and eventually we get to making dinner by 9 or 10, just in time to watch 1/2 to 3/4 of America's Got Talent before we both fall asleep on the couch. The next day we get up at 6 and do it all again. Like I said in the first. Not complaining. Just giving you the details so you can help me come up with a solution.
We are trying so hard to get things ready for the baby but so far we have nothing. And when i say nothing, I mean nothing. So here come my questions. With the limited time we have left before we meet our sweet little Ella, what are the essentials we need to have ready? Crib? Stroller? Rocking Chair? Getting ready to have a baby is so exciting and there are about a million things on my list that I want to have, but I honestly want to know what was most beneficial to have ready when the baby comes. We are aware of our limited time to get things ready so what were some things that I need to be putting at the top of our priority list? Things that aren't such a good idea to do while the baby is around?

Alright, that is all of the energy I have now to write about but I am going to brain storm some random questions below so Please Please Please let me know what you think!!! If I get some good advice I will try to get pictures posted sooner rather than later ;)

I am starting to not be able to sleep. Too Hot, Uncomfortable. Any ideas of how to relieve these symptoms?

I have been getting super sick about an hour after EVERYTHING that I eat. I thought it was a delicious corndog that I ate but then it has been going on for about a week. I am getting frustrated and annoyed at the inconvenience it is causing me in my busy schedule. Has this happened to anyone else? Any foods that I might try that won't make me sick?

I am soooooooo tired. Any good pick me up advice? I know its mostly the pregnancy and the working unlimited hours, but I need a good healthy energy booster. Anyone??

We bought a crib, opened it just to find out that it was the wrong color and the whole headboard was cracked. That style is gone due to a new "line" coming out. Where did you get your Crib? We are looking for a fairly inexpensive one. No idea on where has cute ones that aren't pieces of crap, ya know???

Where did you get your stroller? What do you look for when buying a stroller? And Car seat? What is the difference?

I still can't get myself to buy Maternity clothes. I think I look fat (not pregnant, pregnant is cute and I can handle that) but starting to get way too tight. Where can I get cute inexpensive shirts that will look decent? Also, pants are getting a little too noticeable that I can't even get the zipper to budge an inch. Belly Band is starting to not cover it. I need some cute, comfy work pants to wear for the next 8 weeks. (That part is killing me, The fact that hopefully I will only have to wear them for a few weeks.) Which leads me to my next question.

How long before I will be back in my "normal" clothes? Will I still be wearing maternity pants or will I need to buy a different "middle" size pants?

That is all I can think of right now but I would love any feedback that I can get. I haven't had a lot of time to sit down and read about pregnancy and getting ready to have a baby so I am relying on all of you to help me!

Once again, I am so grateful for everything I have going on in my life right now. It has been super busy with multiple events in life but I would not change it for anything. Nathan and I have been so blessed to be able to prepare ourselves to bring a little baby into our family. We have been blessed with the success of our business and the wonderful support we have had from friends and family and neighbors. We are grateful for our callings in the church and for the love and support of our ward family. Although there have been bumps in the road, and we feel there are many more to go, there are no words to describe the thanks and appreciation we can give to everyone!!!

We are truly blessed!

Baby/Business Update

Which one to update first..
The business is going great. This week is Nathan's last week at work and it has been bitter sweet for both of us. The bitter part is that he as worked at the Valley Market for almost 9 years and they have been so amazing to us. We are so grateful for all of the friendships that have been created and all the blessings that have come out of working there. It is kind of the ending of an era for both of us. The sweet part is that it is the beginning of new life that will hopefully be a change for the better. I am highly confident that all will work out well for us. Nathan has been working so hard day in and day out and even managed to double our phone bill through all the calls being made both in and out. We had some good friends help us with sending out contact letters to both the Ogden Valley and Morgan Valley to get the word out about our Opening. It has so far been a great blessing and we have had a great response to have a good start up. (Don't be offended if you didn't get one and you were from the Valley.) We sent out about 550 letters so if you didn't get one and want one please let me know. ;) I would be more than happy to send you one. Or you can just look up the business on Facebook and it will fill you in with all the details that were in the letter.
I know I posted about this last time but I am so grateful to Nathan for working so hard to make this "future plan" a reality. He has had many stressful days and things don't always work out like you plan but he has found a way through them and made things even better. I have tried to help out as much as I can but there are so many things I don't understand so he just takes care of it. I am so blessed to have such a hard working husband who would do anything to make the best life for his wife and children.

And, as you know.. as if the Business is not enough of a project to get going, we have the blessing of also bringing a little baby girl into the picture all at the same time. There is nothing like taking on some of life's greatest challenges all at once. Bring it on.
Baby Ella is doing great! I had my 20 week appointment this week and I invited my Mom and Grandma to come. My favorite little sis Shandie was also in town so all 4 of us squeezed into the little room to watch the ultrasound. They just get better and better everytime. Doctor said she is about 10 ounces and after watching the video and seeing how long she measured, Nathan and I pulled out our little blue ruler and discovered she is about 6 inches.. give or take a little. It is so fun to see her grow and watch the progression she is making. At one point in the ultrasound we could see her face and I kind of freaked out a little. All of the sudden I was all "That's her face!" It was so amazing! You can see her little eyes and her little hands up against her cheeks.. I can't wait to hold her in my arms in just a few short months. Truly amazing.
I was also able to feel her move (just a little) the other night. We were just laying in bed and all of the sudden I felt a little kick (I don't know how else to explain it) so I waited for a second and felt it again. I told Nathan that I thought I just felt her move and so I put his hand where she was kicking but he couldn't feel it. I only felt it a few times but it was so neat to be able to experience that. Hopefully soon she will kick hard enough that Nathan will be able to experience that with me. I know, I know. Everyone tells me to just wait until she gets the hickups and you cant sleep, but I can't wait. It really is a miracle.

That is about all that is going on with us right now, but that doesn't mean we aren't busy ALL THE TIME. I love going through this adventure with Nathan and I can't wait for the many more to come.

We're having a......

Girl!!! And we couldn't be more excited! I am 17 weeks along and feeling great! I can't believe the change in the way a feel the last couple weeks. I went from not wanting to leave the house and just sit in my pjs and hang out, to feeling refreshed and ready to go play! (But I still do love being in my pajama pants.) I am starting to show a little bit but still fitting comfortably in all of my clothes. Im enjoying it while I can.. Hopefully I will make it that way a little longer. We had our doctors appointment this week and she said everything looks great. She said she was perfect size so that made me feel good. With both of our families a little on the "small" side thats all we can hope for. Is a good size, healthy baby.

One downfall I am having a hard time overcoming is the fact that I am ALWAYS hungry. And when I say always I mean it. That feeling has taken over my body and mind and its all I think about is food. So I am trying to make sure I keep healthy food in my sight so that is what I can turn to first, but man, it is hard. The location of my work is located in the middle of fast food central and it is so hard to just eat my homemade salad and not run across the street for a Cheddar Roast beef sandwich and a large order of curly fries. Nathan has been really good to come home and promote me to eat good food and encourage healthy dinner making. I love that boy.

I could not do this without Nathan and all of his support. I was a handful to put up with before I was prego but unfortunately pregnancy does not always bring out the best in us girls. Half the time he talks to me it goes in one ear and out the other. Not on purpose. I just can't seem to take it all in and register it fast enough. It is a really weird feeling. I'm not a fan. I have to actually be consciously thinking about listening and putting it together in order to have a comment back. So I thank him for all of his patience and love he has given to me during this time in our lives.

We are so excited to be having our little girl "Ella" and look forward to all of the adventures ahead of us. For those of you who don't know, we are in the process of getting our hgetting new paperwork ready and doing all the "fun" business owner stuff done. He works so hard all day everyday and I am so proud of all he has done. This opportunity came right at about the same time we found out we were pregnant and we knew it was going to be a challenge and we are ready for it. Nathan is the hardest working man I have ever met and I just hope I can keep up with him and make sure I am there to show all of my love and support back to him. As all new business owners, we are ready to have a couple years of struggle and sacrifice but are ready to gain all the benefits associated with it as well. We ask for all of your support and prayers. We will need it.

I have thought about taking prego photos of my growing belly but Im not sure how I feel about it yet so you might see some coming and maybe not. Still deciding. Well that is the update with us and I cant wait for the next couple weeks to go get our 3D ultrasound. But I will make sure and post it!

What I know at 8 weeks..

Some secrets are not meant to be secrets! They are way too exciting to keep to ourselves! We had our first appointment today and it was awesome! I am 8 weeks along and I am due September 28. The last couple weeks I knew I was pregnant but it is so amazing to go to the doctor and see your little baby and hear its little heartbeat. It took my breath away. What a little miracle babies are.

As far as my pregnancy so far, I have a confession to make. I must apologize to all the mothers that I have made fun of for the last couple years. I used to think that they were all exaggerating that they have to eat every 5 minutes and they are nauseous every 2 minutes. I am sincerely sorry. Please forgive me. I am lucky that it is not really bad but I definitely have had to change my eating habits in the last couple weeks. If I am not constantly eating, I am sick. But it is all worth it.

We are officially Business Owners!

After a year and a half of thinking, drawing, talking and working his butt off, Nathan has officially turned us in to Business Owners!!

It is called Bingham's Custom Meats and we will be the FIRST (that we know of) to have a mobile butchering trailer. We have a custom built trailer that will be available to come to you when you have recently gone hunting and have brought home some meat! We will be able to skin, cut, grind, wrap and make jerky out of your game right at your house within a couple hours.

To help get our business going we will also be selling shirts and hats on our website to help with the initial costs of getting a business running.

I am so lucky that I have such an amazing husband like Nathan who has been the brains of this operation. For those of you who dont know him, he is the most dedicated, hard working man I have ever met. He has put so much time and effort into getting this ready. The countless phone calls, the cardboard drawings that he would think up at work and write them down and everything else he has done. It has definitely been an adventure and we can't wait to see the benefits that it will bring to us and our family.

What a great way to start the New Year! Don't ya think? We got back from Maui on Sunday and we were there for a week! We went with some friends and had a blast! The weather was perfect.. we stayed right across the street from one of the best beaches.. we ate junk food and shaved ice the whole time.. it was freaking amazing! I can't wait to go back! Someday...

Funny story.. Our friends Carlene and Kevin left the same day we did but because we booked the tickets so late we had to fly out on different flights and had a few layovers. They had to be there at about 7:00 in the morning and we didn't have to be there until 9. Well, we got there early and made it through securtiy in about 10 minutes so we were just sitting in the lobby waiting to board the plane and we got called up to the front desk.. The lady said that they had over booked our plane and asked if we could change flights. She told us that we would get 2 roundtrip tickets and the flight she could fit us on flew out 10 minutes later than our regular flight and it was a direct flight! SWEET!! It was a hard decision.. Not. We were so excited and we beat Carly and Kevin to the airport.. Isn't that awesome! Alright.. enough talk.. more pics. They are few and random. I decided that since there were 2 other couples going with us, I could slack out on picture taking and get copies of theirs.. I will get them posted as soon as I get them.. Thanks guys!

We woke up at 4:00 in the morning to watch the sun rise through the clouds on the top of the Volcano.. it was beautiful! And 30 degrees.. we were right at home!

A friend told us we could snorkel here... ya right.. good luck with that!

Whaler's Village

This is Carlene.. funny.. every night when we would get home from our daily activites.. she would sit down and fall asleep within minutes.. it was awesome.. no kidding.. every night.. on the couch..

We went whale watching in Lahina and we saw so many whales! We saw a group of about 4 or 5 whales that were fighting! They would all stay really close and we would see fins slapping and head butting..Our tour guide said that it has been 20 years since they had seen anything like it and we got to witness it.. we were lucky to go when the whales are so popular.. we kept seeing them from off the beach and we saw quite a few jump out of the water.. Man, I can't believe how big those things are!

This summer we had the opportunity to fly out to New York to see Nathan's brother Cory graduate from Chiropractic School! Way to go Cory.. I am ashamed to say that I do not have any pictures of his graduation, sorry guys.. but I do have plenty of the rest of our trip. Cory and Sarah were nice enough to be our tour guides, even though they have done it a million times, and take us around to see all of the LDS church sites and up to Niagra Falls! It was absolutely amazing! I want to say thank you again to Cory and Sarah for letting us stay at their home and let us eat all of their food and drive them crazy for a week! We love you guys and can't wait to see you soon!

Lessons NOT learned....

1 Fart + 1 mouthfull of foamy toothpaste = One cold shower

So.. last week, Nathan thought he was funny so he followed me into the bathroom while I was brushing my teeth and he farted. Sick. So to defend myself and to show who is boss, I followed him into the bedroom and spit my full, foamy, toothpasty spit all over his face. Then he picked me up, threw me into the bathtub (In my clean pjs) and turned on the cold water. KO.

A couple days later, after much thought, I decided I would be funny and twist tie the water squirty thing in the kitchen to on and so when Nathan came home he would get it right in the face. Genius right?

Wrong. Yes he did get sprayed, like one squirt, but I was the one who got a FULL gallon of cold fridge water dumped on top of my head..

Lesson learned? Not a chance. Bring it on.

It is rope lights sitting on top of some crown molding and it looks freaking awesome.. This was not an easy addition... I say it again and again.. Nathan is absolutely amazing.. He can do anything..

This is going to be a long post so make sure you have a minute.. As always life has been crazy busy but it has been very successful...I guess I will start from the first..

Danielle has started playing the violin and she came over to show us what she had learned and Ernie loved it. He sat there the whole time and just stared at her and listened.. it was the funniest thing ever..

The upper 2 pics are from our first outdoor climb of the season.. we went in the canyon and I went but it was still the middle of March and it was a little too cold for me to be climbing..

The middle of April Nathan competed in a climbing competition up by 29th street boulder fields. He did awesome.. We don't have many pics because I was videoing him most of the time but he did really well.. we got lots of cool gear out of it. Way to Go Nathan!

Ok.. here you all go.. it's been done for a couple weeks now but here they are.. The pictures don't do justice so if you want to see the good stuff you will have to come over and see it..

Before

I owe my mom, Pauline, Aunt Kath and Aunt Teresa forever for coming down and helping me paint.. they are all professionals and did such a good job. We got it all painted in about 2 1/2 hours. all coats.. Thanks so much you guys! I love you all to death!

After.. but still before it was all the way done

So it is only fair that we start one project and finish it and something else breaks.. While we were painting there was a knobby thingy under my kitchen sink that broke and so water was leaking everywhere and my kitchen floor flooded and then I went downstairs to put some laundry in and this is what I found in the downstairs bathroom.. the water had leaked through the floor of the kitchen and you can't tell by the pic but there was an easy inch of water on the floor and the carpet was soaked.. lovely right.. the toilet was all bubbles so we had to get a new one of those.. the tiles in the ceiling were soggy and one broke.. So I called Nathan and he came home and looked at it.. said it was an easy fix..

So we went to Home Depot to get some new parts and when we got home we needed to find the main shut off valve for the water so we could change the fixture.. it was no where to be found.. So Nathan being the amazing man that he is.. traced some of the water pipes and found where it should be.. Funny thing though.. there was a wall in front of it..

He had to cut a hole in the wall and pray that it was under there.. It was.. the people that built this house must have been genius.. NOT!

Drum roll please.. here is the finished project! I love it so much.. I feel like it is really our own now.. its warm and cozy.. Yay.
Last week we had a BBQ with our friends just for fun and also to celebrate Bryce for Graduating!! Way to go Bryce! Nathan is always the best cook..We got out some Ladder Ball and had a little tournament.. (We almost made it all night without breaking all of the balls..) Cheap..

For my birthday Nathan got me a set of bigger, separte scriptures. I have some smaller ones that are all in one book that I still love but these ones will be easier for me to study out of. For my birthday Nathan took me on the frontrunner down to Salt Lake and we went and saw the Joseph Smith movie and to dinner and then we hung out at Gateway for a little while! It was so much fun.. I left my camera sitting on my dresser.. Go me.. But I had a wonderful 21st birhday! Nathan did an awesome job putting it together for me and making it so special! I love you Baby!

What's new here? Let me tell you...
1. I'm getting new carpet. I shopped.. I found.. I bought.. then I told Nathan.. he he..
2. I am getting new paint.. yay! I'll post pics as soon as we are done.. I'm hoping for a complete makeover.
3. Spring should be here by now and it's not. I'm mad
4. We get to speak in sacrament tomorrow.. that will be loads of fun
5. Ernie has almost ripped out all the grass in the back yard.. dumb dog
6. Nathan is going to compete in a bouldering(climbing) comp next month.. go Nathan!
7. We went on our first outdoor climbing adventure last week.. pics below..
8. We had our mini-golf tournament a couple weeks ago.. it was awesome.. pics also below..

Today I feel like "SuperWoman!"

Why?

I'm glad you asked...

This is what I achieved today..

*Went to work from 8 to 3:30

*Came home and did my dishes: load, unload and washed all my big pans

* Swept my Kitchen floor- then I mopped

*Washed off my oven.. I even cleaned the Metal pot holder things (Gas oven) It's white again

* Cleared off my table and my computer desk (found some papers I was missing_figures)

* Made my bed

* Washed AND put away all of my laundry

* Dusted.. my whole house

*Cleaned BOTH bathrooms.. toilets..all around the whole toilet.. sinks.. floors.. mirrors..

* Vaaccumed.. TWICE.. the first time it was clogged so it was pointless..

* Made it to the gym by 6:50 to Step class

* Came home and made tacos with my hubby for dinner.

I don't want to brag or anything.. but I feel awesome..

It feels so good to come home to a clean house..

Won't stay that way for long...

But for a minute I feel great about myself.

Go me.

Whew! We are still alive.. sorry it has been awhile.. I will use the same excuse as I always do.. Life is crazy!! This post might end up being a long one so I hope you can make it.. take a big deap breath!!

ALright.. First things first...

For those of you who don't know, We found out Ernie had Parvo. He started throwing up about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago and we didn't really think anything of it. It went on for a couple of days but since we are so used to him eating anything and everything he can find.. for example.. socks, his blanket, grass, sticks, small rocks, plastic bags that he has dug up in the back yard.. we weren't worried about it. We later noticed that he was not eating anything and he was not drinking anything and we hadn't noticed he had pooped either so we got a little worried. Then that Sunday we were heading to the valley to a farewell and Nathan decided to call a family friend that is a vet and just ask her what she thought about the situation. She told us that he was dying and if we didn't take him to the animal hospital right then she was afraid he would be dead in a couple hours. We decided to skip the farewell and run home and take him to the vet.. I seriously cried the whole day.. It was the scarriest thing ever.. Long story short he had a blowout in the office right before we were going to take him into surgery to see what was wrong, and the vet could smell the Parvo in is poo right away.. Way to go Doc.. that is pure talent right there.. it was the most awful smell ever.. but we were so grateful that we were able to find out what it was right then because he was so bad we probably would have lost him during the surgery. I would explain what Parvo is but it is quite the Sickness so if you are interested I found a lot of good info on http://www.peteducation.com/ . The doctor then gave him tons of shots and IV's and we were able to take him home. I guess with Parvo since it is a virus, they can't treat it.. they can only treat the symptoms so when we took him home we had no idea if he was going to pull out of it. We gave him the medicine that we got and in a couple days he was back to his old self.. Oh ya.. and the doctor said he probably got it from outside so there was no way to prevent it.. but I have chloroxed everything I possibly can so we can make sure no other puppies get it around us.. In the end.. we are so blessed that our fat little boy was able to fight it off and is back to his crazy, hyper self again.. this is a pic that I took a couple days ago.. he is such an odd dog..Next.. Since we got married I have wanted to get a bedspread that I can theme our room around and now I have one! Ashlee told me told me to look on Ebay and so I did and I love it! I got it for a great deal and I absolutely love it.. I know it sounds dumb.. but I feel more girly.. It gets me exctited and I want to redecorate my house.. One step at a time.. we'll see how that goes.. but here are before and after pics.. ( The first one is a little exagerated.. I wanted it to be a drastic differnence so I messed it up a little.. )

And last but not least.. Weber State had a climbing comptetition on Saturday and Nathan and Brian helped set the routes.. the set up some awesome ones! Since Nathan set the routes he was not allowed to compete but the next one they have we will probably both compete.. Nathan for sure.. I am trying to get up the guts to do it.. we will see. Sad. We think Ernie has the flu.. He has been throwing up for about a day and he is just not the same.. He won't eat and has barely drank any water. We are trying pedialyte.. hope it works. If you have any ideas.. Please.. fill us in. It is so sad to see him mope around..

Yay! Happy New Years! Well, we invited a bunch of friends to come hang out New Years Eve and these are the only two that showed up! WOO HOO! We must stink or something.. sorry guys..No it really was a last minute plan so we will forgive all of you that did not come. We might not next time.. but this time you are off the hook.. you know who you are..

Well since there were only four of us we decided to start up a good game of Hand and Foot. I love that game. It is nice to sit down and play games with friends rather than going out to eat or watching a movie or something. It was a nice change. We were watching the clock and listening to the TV so we could see the ball drop but I guess we got a little too caught up in our game. All of the sudden Kellees phone went off to say that it was midnight but when we looked at the television we still had 3 minutes. Nathan picked up the remote and pushed the "live tv" button and of course the tivo had been rewinded so we didn't see it on time.. Oh well.. what do you do..

We had a great game of hand and foot and me and Kellee kicked trash the whole time.. until the last round. Nathan and Bryce went out before me or Kellee had even touched our foot. It was dumb. I think they cheated.. ;)

Nathans new Hair Cut!!

Nathan decided that since he had never grown his hair out he wanted to try it. So starting in October, he didn't cut it. He thought that I didn't like it.. and thats not true.. but thats not wrong either.. I just prefer him with short hair. He was going to surprise me and cut it on Christmas but I made a smart-alic comment one day and he thought I knew about the surprise so he didn't. A few days later.. WaLA! He gave in.. So I took before pics.. I forgot to do an after.. I was too busy drooling over how HOT he looked. But there are others on our blog so you can see the after pics!

Isn't my man a handsome devil? I think so!!

Christmas Day!!

We had a wonderful busy Christmas day and Im sure did all of you guys.. But i have to say that Christmas is definitly not the same when you get married.. Don't get me wrong, it is still a blast, it is just different. Christmas morning Nathan and I got up about 6:30 to open our own presents at our house. It was funny because I bought Nathans gift off of his list and I also bought my own gifts off my list. So opening presents was fun because we finally got to use what we had already bought ourselves! LOL! Nathan was sweet to give me a few surprises too. I love that kid.

It was really funny to see Ernie with his gifts tho.. we got him a big bag that was full of all sorts of stuffed animals and squeeker toys. He started to rip the paper and then we finally had to help him. (He is just like our little kid) After it was opened Nathan dumped all of his toys out in front of him and he didn't know what to do. He just looked at them and started whining. It was hilarious. I hate it when you have too many toys that it just wants to make you cry.. poor thing.
We then headed up to my parents house to watch them open up their gifts. This is when Nathan finally got to open his present that I have had hidden for months.. thanks to Brian. Thanks Brian. YOu are AWESOME! Nathan has wanted some crash pads for climbing for a long time and so I saved up and bought some for him a while ago.. I had to have his friend at work lie to him and tell him he couldn't buy them until they went on sale at the first of the year. But it was all worth it to see the look on his face when he opened them! Last year Nathan surprised me and bought me my Nativity so this year was my turn to get a little surprise for him.. Look at the pictures.. they don't do justice for how fun it was to watch him. After we did that we headed up the the Binghams to eat a delicious breakfast prepared by Rosann and we opened gifts and hung out with the fam. It was such a wonderful Christmas and we can't wait until next year.. well.. actually we can.. :)

Holy cow!! Do the Holidays wear anybody else out? We had an amazing Christmas and New Years but I am so happy they are over. I was a little sad that they came and went so fast but it is nice to get back on our regular schedule (if you can call it that.) ZOO Lights and Po-Po's

My sweet brother Brody was nice eonough to plan a little double date with him and his beautiful girlfriend Nicole, and also my cousin Cory and his wife Jenna. We went down in the 20 degree weather to the Zoo to look at all the lights. I was a little surprised to not see as many animals as I thought. I don't blame them for not wanting the animals to get cold.. but seriously.. we saw like 4. But we still had a blast walking around and burning our tongues on hot chocolate we couldn't help but drink. It got so cold that we were running post to post where they had tall heater things that you could barely feel the fire. Oh well, what do you do. After we got done at the zoo we headed down and ate at the Macaroni Grill.. I love that place. It was a riot! Of course when you get Nathan, Brody, and Cory together they are funny as heck.. I was laughing so hard all night it made my stomach hurt. I love it when that happens. But the funniest part was when we were driving home. We all had about 10 layers on because it was so cold outside so we had the heat cranked up in the car. Brody was driving and decided he was too hot and started to take off his coat.. about 2 minutes later.. not exaggerating.. 3 cops pull up behind us and turn on their lights. We were just thinking that maybe he sped up a little when he pulled off his coat.. no big deal.. Well, then 2 cops..one on each side of the car.. hold up their flashlights to the car, make us roll down all of our windows and put our hands on the front of the seats where they could see them. They then took his license and registration and crap and a couple minutes later they came back to the car and made Brody get out.. A couple more minutes went by and Brody came back laughing.. I guess they had 3 calls about a suburban drunk driving.. What? Yep.. thats us.. It was awesome..

Ok so I got it last year for Christmas but this is the first year I got to put it up so Im super excited! And also, its a little late but my family has a tradition of jumping in the pool on Thanksgiving day. So here is the pic. We didn't wimp out but Nathan had just injured his foot and I had the stomach flu so we skipped jumping in this year.. There was still ice in the pool.. and we tested it at 35 or 36 degrees I think.. Why I love my Husband..

For some strange and unexplainable reason, life has seemed absolutely crazy lately. Work life, family life, home life, church life.. it has all been amazing but at the same time crazy.. but in all the mess there has been only one guy that has helped me make it through. And that is my husband. I would not be able to wake up in the morning and be glad to be where I am at without him.. He is the strongest, most positive, most supporting, most handsome-est, most enthusiastic, most loving person I have ever met in my life. For anyone that knows Nathan, knows that he will never give up. It doesn't matter what he is working on. He will NEVER give up.. As many as you know he injured his ankle while rock climbing. He hurt it to a point that he was in crutches for a couple days, we were looking at the option of surgery, and he has been wearing a boot around for the last couple weeks. But do you think that stopped him?? Not a chance. Not even an injured foot stopped him from going to work and being happy about it.. We were also able to participate in one of our favorite past times.. cutting up cows. Nathan is an example to me to look at the good things in life. I was recently given a new calling at church and to be completely honest I was scared out of my mind. I cried for days because I didn't know how I was going to be able to handle it. Nathan was there and is still there to help me with all my lessons and to make sure that I know everything I can about the gospel. I love him so much and I don't know what I would do without him.. I am so blessed to have met him and somehow talked him into marrying me. I love you Nathan so much! Thank you for everything! 143

I got off work early yesterday just to find out that Nathan had been rock climbing and twisted his ankle. Lovely. He was climbing at the gym and landed funny half on and half off the mat from high up on the wall. Nothing is broken but we will have to take him in for an MRI to see if he needs surgery. Nathan is also lucky enough to be working 70 hours a week for a couple months so he will be on his feet. also Lovely. Pray for him. He will be hurting.

Yes, its true.. We have pulled one more over to our side.. My friend Haley has recently been married and being the wonderful friends that we are.. failed to give her a shower before she was wed.. So Sage was awesome enough to plan a night out with the girls to celebrate this wonderful occasion! We had so much fun.. we always do.. just laughing and talking and catching up on the excitement going on in each others life! It is so fun to go places with all the girls because there are so many of us.. People look at us like we are crazy.. but maybe we are! And there was even a few people that are missing.. So when we were house shopping we both had our own idea of what we wanted in a house... I wanted a washer and dryer, an extra room that we could use for a baby room someday.. a dishwasher.. and Nathan.. well he wanted a rock wall.. So when we bought our house we both got what we wanted.. I got the upstairs extra bedroom and he got the downstairs bedroom to build his wall.. So here it is. A couple weekends ago we decided to finally go on a climbing trip.. We met at Brian and Dana's house and packed the car to the rim and we were on our way!! We had tons of fun and we are going to try to fit another one in before winter so we will see how that goes.. We got some funny looks traveling down the freeway with the crash pads on top of the little car! It was hilarious! Oh ya.. and We used our dutch oven for the first time and it was awesome!! Thanks Jess and Mark.. we will never go camping without it.. I think we ate better camping than we do at home..
(probably because Nathan cooked camping and I cook at home..) Yep. Thats it.

We went to a nearby town one night to see if there was anything to do.. It is such a small town that they did have a theatre but the townspeople said they only opened it when they felt like it.. but this board was right outside the building.. We need to have one of these in Huntsville sometime.. anyone want in?

The Apartment..

Alright, alright.. we know it has been forever since we posted so you can all stop reminding us.. Moving into a new house turned into a bigger project than expected but all is up and running now.. but before we post pics of the house.. We want to show you all what our living conditions have been for the last year. This post is not to complain, its just to give you all a heads up. We have been absolutely blessed to have rented where we did. If we had been anywhere else there is no way in heck we would have been able to make ends meet to move into this house. We are so grateful for the Stokes putting up with us for the last year!! We hope you Enjoy!!

We decided to get a puppy since we have wanted one since we got married.. our current landlords do not allow pets.. mostly becasue there is nowhere to put them.. But Nathan's parents raise Scotties and just had a batch of little puppies so we picked one out!! He will not be ready for a couple weeks so it will be perfect by the time we get moved into our house. We named him Ernie.. he is the one with the green yarn around his neck and he is the fatest one of the bunch.. he was born almost twice as big as the runt.. so here are some pics of him and some of Bailey!! It was a blast.. the water was pretty cold so we( the girls and Nathan) didn't swim.. but we had some pretty awesome adventures in the river bottoms..

Anniversary Trip!!

Ok.. so it is so wierd that we have an anniversay to celebrate.. I don't know how I feel about that. So we just won't talk about it. thanks. anywho.. we won a free night stay at the anniversary inn in logan for going to the world mark spill.. but really it ended up costing us $1700 for the demo that we will probably never use. yep. suckers. thats us. So Monday we got up and headed to the valley to go golfing at Wolf Creek but there was a tornament til 12:30. lame. so to pass the time Nathan had a brilliant idea to go canoeing on the lake. Our awesome neighbor Cleo was kind enough to let us use her canoe and we were off. It was so Fun! It was so nice to just hang out and cruise around on the lake. It was very romantic! I pretended to help row but seriously.. lets get real.

THen we went golfing. holy crap. I am pretty bad.. but the good news is I made it across one of the lakes!! I was stoked. the bad news.. I lost 9 balls on the first 2 lakes. oh well. what do you do.
Next stop... Logan. while we were up there we had the chance to go see our good friends Isaac and Mary! THanks guys for letting us come see you! THey went to dinner with us at the Olive Garden.. it is so fun to see friends that you don't get to see very often..

Tuesday we had plans to go up to Logan canyon to go climbing but the weather had other plans.. it was rainey and so instead we went to Haus of Rock to climb instead..

We had so much fun and it was nice to get away! I honestly can't believe it has already been a year but I can't wait to spend the un-numerable (is that a word?) anniversarys to come! I love you baby and I can't imagine ever being without you! You mean the world to me! 1-4-3

In celebration of our first wedding anniversary on June 9th I thought it would be fun to have a flashback of our wedding day! We were so blessed to have everything turn out so well! The weather was perfect.. ( It snowed the day before so we were a little nervous..), my parents are absolutely amazing and the yard looked like something from Better Homes and Garden.. Our Sealer was hilarious.. although I don't remember what he said but I do know I was laughing the whole time..Perfect perfect perfect! Thanks to everyone who was involved and it was a day we will never forget!

P.S. I was going to do some honeymoon pics but I don't have any... Sad.. but true.. Gotta love being sick on your honeymoon.. good ol strep throat! ;)

Camp Out!

Ah! I am a slacker.... It's been a crazy couple weeks so I haven't been in the blogging mood.. But here are a couple of fun things that have been a part of the busy weeks..

We went and hung out with Brody and Chantel and it was finally one of the warmer days... But not so much the warmer nights.. we made a campfire at my parents house and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows..

My Dad is in the process.. almost done.. building a big shed to put all of their storage in. iso....it is almost impossible to find things at the moment, so instead of looking around for some roasting sticks.. nathan decided to raid the closets and make his own.. I love this boy.. He roasted 4 hotdogs at once! This man is amazing.. we'll just leave out the part that he almost burned his hand off in the process.. ;)

Then after we were done and bored with that we got into a huge marshmallow fight.. those suckers hurt! or maybe i am just a wimp.. that is probably it.. But it was so fun! I felt like I was a kid again! Yay!

and then to end the night.. my genious brother put a huge sheet over the swing set and set up a projector with surround sound and we watched the Goonies under the stars! It was such a blast! I love being outside and I am so excited for late nights and summer stars!

Bailey's Baby Blessing

Last Sunday we had the chance to go see Bryan bless little Bailey.. He did such an awesome job! After we went over to Bridgette and Bryan's house and had a BBQ and played Golf Laso.. Golf Laso is a game that we found out about at Christmas from Grandma Layton and now it is a hit. We have played it many times with the Laytons so we thought we would introduce it to the Binghams.. We lost to everyone.. But it was really fun anyways.. Here are some pics of the aawesome family that we have! I seriously have the coolest In-Laws in the world! They are all so great.. And the cutest Niece as well!

2 of our very best friends Bryce and Kellee were sweet enough to throw me a little birthday party Monday night at our One Tree Hill Party.. They weren't able to come to dinner with us Tuesday so instead they bought me the coolest birthday cake I have ever had.. High School Musical..(Plastic Troy CD case included) and balloons and stuff! They are so awesome! I love you guys! Our other 2 best friends Cody and Mel were also there! Thanks guys for all you do!

IT's a Sign..

So we are not taking it as a sign, but its interesting that since we have lived at our apartment, things have started breaking. We have had 3 cousins live here before us and when we moved in everything seemed to be working great. We take good care of our stuff but by examining the things that have gone wrong since we have been here, you might think otherwise. I think it is really funny but Im not the one that fixes them. Good job babe. We are pretty lucky becasue Nathan is Mr fix It and so far there hasn't been anything that he hasn't known how to repaired. I thought it was hilarious so I wanted to share..

First to go was the stove. The picture above is the new one that they put in but the last one randomly blew-up on us.. we were just cooking with a pressure cooker and all of the sudden the burner it was on started on fire and burned a hole through the pan. It was nuts.. I wish I had a picture but... I don't. It was kinda funny cause it was on fire and me and Nathan just looked at each other and said, "huh, that's wierd."

Next was the toilet.. It just stopped filling back up with water when we flushed it.. At first we just had a cup and filled it up with water from the sink but then Nathan found out what was wrong. Now we just keep the top off and push something(I have no idea what it is) but it makes it fill back up.. We have yet to find a final solution for that..

Now the shower had multiple things go wrong on the same day..Ha Ha.. Good times..Long story short.. Our shower is made up of PVC Pipe hanging from a chain from the ceiling-with a shower head and hose connected to the spout with packing tape.. as seen in pic. Sweet huh. We love it. Well all in the same day, the PVC pipe was ripped off of the wall.. and the shower head completly broke off the hose leading to the spout. Result : Shampoo-y hair and drizzling water out of a 3/4in hose.

And last but not least.. while switching out our old couch for a new one we were given.. many of our lenolium(spelling?)tiles were lifted of off our kitchen floor because we had to move the fridge and oven out of the way.

What else could we ask for, right? Certainly not our renting deposit.... I'm pretty sure that just got flushed down the toilet.. maybe that's why it's broken.. ;)

We decided to go to Famous Daves for dinner Saturday.. Me and Kellee decided if we had to describe Dallin with one picture... this would for sure be the one.. Cute dal. I have never seen Bryce laugh so hard than he did at Dallin's face that night..

After we were done eating the boys had to go to the bathroom so Kellee and I decided to run get the car and hide from them.. They later caught us but we made them all squish in the back seat.. It was pretty funny....

Hooray it is Golf season again... yay. I have to be honest.. I never thought i would be a golfer... but I also didn't ever imagine i would marry Nathan Bingham. I am proud to say I now love both! Claudia... We can watch those golf movies together because I have absolutly no idea what I am doing either but it is still way fun..

Did I mention that Nathan is also a great teacher... well.. most of the time.. lol.. I am still learning what I am doing but I like to get my husbands advice.. I have a tendancy to stand up as soon as I swing because I like to watch the ball and see where it goes.. one problem.. when I start to watch the ball it actually makes me totally miss. I was explaining this to Nathan and he agreed to show me the difference in trying to watch the ball and focusing on hitting the ball and watching it after that point..

Nathan stood in place and very smoothly swung the club and it was a beautiful hit. Nice job hun..

Next he showed me what not to do.. this is the funny part.. Trying to do a good job but using the stand up tenique.. Nathan swung the club and aside from missing the ball completely... the golf club slipped right out of his hands and in a circular motion flew towards the middle of the driving range... and that is also right where it landed.. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen.. I almost peed my pants laughing.

And to add to the funny-ness of the situation, I swear there was someone in every section and the top level was also full.. we had to wait til we left to go get it so he wouldnt get welted with the 10,000 golf balls flying every second onto the green.. Way to go hun.. That is the last time I ask you for a demonstration.. ha ha.. just kidding..

I'm sorry to announce but I am 100% sure that I have the cutest, sweetest, most thoughtful husband in the whole world! I am the luckiest girl in the universe!

Just for the record I am probably the biggest baby you have ever met.. I cry over everything. I remember crying all the time when I was younger but as I went through high school I truly believed that I had gotton over this sickness.. that was.. til I got married. I feel like it started all over again.. I cry at movies.. I cry when there might be a slight chance that Nathan doesn't like my dinner(although that has not happened yet).. just believe me.. its almost a weekly task.

That is just one of the many things that Nathan has to put up with on a daily basis.. trust me.. there are many many more.. but still Nathan is sweet enough to do this..

So I was at work the other day.. working back in the drive-thru and Leisl came back and told me that someone was there to see me.. so.. I walked out front and there is my sweet husband with a beautiful red rose for me!! ah cute! It was for no reason.. I was so happy to see him!

I don't know how it happened but I am so blessed to have such a wonderful man to call my husband! I love you babe! I don't know what I would do without you!!

P.S. and just for the record.. I cried on the way home cause I thought about how lucky I was to have Nathan!

My good friend Jeni is getting married and so we had a shower for her... I was so excited to go and see all of my friends from high school! We are all still friends but everyone is off at college and doing their jobs and what not so I counted down the days til I got to see all of them! Nathan has been into Rock Climbing since he was little and so I decided that since he enjoyed it so much, maybe I would try it too. So here are some pictures of us at the IRock just climbing around. This is my cute little-big sister.. I am older but she is definitely taller.. Tonight was Prom so I went to my parents house for the day to help her get ready.. Isn't she gorgeous!! Our cousin Jenna Layton is amazing at hair so she helped us with that part.
